It’s billed as a day filled with terrific weather, fun volleyball and camaraderie.

The 26th Annual YWCA Pollyball Volleyball Tournament is Saturday August 19, 2017, at International Park.

The event has become an important fundraiser that benefits the YWCA’s Encore Plus program, which is a comprehensive education and breast cancer resource center.

Toledo’s Hylant family created the tournament as a way to honor their sister, Polly Hylant-Tracy, who lost her battle with cancer in 1990.

The large family often played volleyball in Polly’s backyard and they decided this was the perfect way to honor her and raise money to fight breast cancer.

Since it began, Pollyball has raised nearly $1 million to support breast cancer detection and awareness programs.
