The gradients of summer wash our minds in a soft haze of swimming hole blue-greens, scorched-grass yellows, lavender pink sunsets, and of course, the burgundies of BBQ.
No matter how long we’ve been out of it school, something about summer conjures the idea of both time to ourselves and big gatherings. Few things are more inseparable from these notions than that of the cookout. And one of the most cherished delicacies from the holy charcoal grail are BBQ ribs — not a common Summer treat like hot dogs and hamburgers, but a celebratory feast.
Only ribs, by any city-to-city standard, get their own festival.
