TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo’s future along Swan Creek in the Warehouse District can be seen in 21 upscale townhouse units.
Jim McGowan is the developer. He says, “I’ve been saying for awhile I think the pent up demand downtown is equal to all the western suburbs combined.”
That’s quite a statement, but Jim sees the small plot bordered by Summit, St. Clair and the creek as something special.
He’s planning townhomes with 2-car garages, open living plans, balconies and two master bedrooms.
McGowan believes people who used to want to live in the suburbs will move into his units. He says he’s already getting some interest from likely buyers.
Millenials like the loft look with the warehouse-style. But these units will have a more modern appearance.
McGowan says, “They can get warehouse units all over downtown and this will be a whole different type of product toward an upper end buyer.”
Price tag: $370,000 to $700,000.
That is a unique price point downtown but McGowan says Toledo is primed for it.
