(TOLEDO) – Toledo’s new Independence Day celebration promises spectacular fireworks and symphony music wrapped in a new celebration and name.
Fourth in the 419 will include six days of entertainment beginning June 29 and concluding with dazzling fireworks above the Maumee River on July 4. For the first time, the fireworks will have a live music soundtrack performed by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra at Promenade Park. The performance is part of the ProMedica Summer Concert Series. Taylor Automotive is the presenting sponsor of Fourth in the 419.
Activities will include nine downtown concerts at multiple venues, five Mud Hens games, and family friendly events at Imagination Station and Metroparks Toledo.
In a statement announcing the event, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said “The city of Toledo is really excited about Fourth in the 419. We hope this will be a record-breaking year for attendance downtown at Toledo’s Independence Day festivities.”
Fireworks will begin at 10:00pm on July 4th at International Park. Promenade Park and Hensville Park will host free public viewing parties with live entertainment leading up to the fireworks show.
