TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – After a successful event in 2017, The Arts Commission and the Toledo Symphony are joining forces once again to hold Momentum in 2018.
This year’s three day festival will include a Toledo Mini Maker Faire, temporary large scale art installations, including Fantastic Planet by Parer Studio and the Compound Camera by Pneauhouse.
There will also be an opportunity for glass artists and designers to explore Toledo’s glass industry as well as a new display named “INTER/ACTIVE’ artworks by regional artists, commissioned by The Arts Commission.
Two concerts are planned as part of the festival – Friday night features Orquesta Akokán, a big band collective of Cuban musicians of all ages. The Toledo Symphony will return to the stage in Promenade Park, with Tan Dun on Saturday, September 15 and with music and other performances in the park throughout day.
Momentum is sponsored by ProMedica and Toledo’s philanthropic community.
