TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – It’s another busy weekend in Downtown Toledo, and the centerpiece is a brand new festival from ProMedica. The Fire and Ice Festival kicks off Thursday night in Promenade Park and features a wide array of activities, performances, and, of course, food.
Those attending the event will have an opportunity to make their way through an escape room, soar down a zip line, go ice skating, watch ice carving and fire throwers, and even check out an igloo and a fire breathing dragon. The whole thing will close out on Saturday with a fireworks display.
“It’s a great way to show that Toledo is a great place to come all season long, not just for the summer concerts, not just for the river. But all year long you can come down,” says Kathleen Merrill, VP of Marketing & Communication at ProMedica. “We saw an opportunity for people who maybe have never been to Toledo or people who haven’t been to Toledo for a long time to really see how our city is coming back.”
The festival is free to attend, but organizers say that outside food and drinks are prohibited.
