TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The Blade Holiday Parade will step off at 10 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2018 in Downtown Toledo.
The Grand Marshal of the 31st annual Holiday Parade will be Bruce Gradkowski, a former University of Toledo and NFL quarterback. After a record-setting career with the Rockets, Gradkowski played 11 seasons in the NFL for five teams including Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Oakland, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. He is the color analyst on the UT football radio network and is a co-host on a weekly SiriusXM NFL Radio show. Gradkowski, a local restaurant owner, recently received a 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Award from Leadership Toledo which honors individuals who have distinguished themselves in their career and/or as a volunteer in the community. He is also a community ambassador for ProMedica, according to a media announcement shared with 13abc.
More than 80 units including giant balloons, clowns, marching bands and dance bands are expected to participate. Santa Claus will hear wishes from area boys and girls at Imagination Station after the parade concludes.
The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Relay will begin at 8:30 a.m., Family Fun Run will begin at 9:15 a.m. in The Blade Parking lot.
