Downtown Toledo will celebrate the holiday season with the return of a big light-up event. It’s called Hensville Lights.
Hensville will flip the switch on the season on Saturday, Nov. 11, illuminating more than 200,000 twinkling lights. The bright display will decorate all of the buildings on St. Clair St. between Washington and Monroe. There’s even a dancing lights display in Hensville Park that is synced to music.
The holiday display features a new Hensville Park Christmas tree. It stands 45 feet tall and will be lit for display along the Monroe Street side of the park.
The holiday lighting celebration on Nov. 11 will include strolling carolers and a special visit from Santa Claus. The lighting celebration will happen at 6:00pm and is free and open to the public. It will be followed by the Toledo Walleye hockey game against Kalamazoo at 7:15pm at the Huntington Center.
The lights at Hensville will be on display through the Winter Brewfest on January 20. Businesses along St. Clair Street participating in Hensville Lights include Shared Lives Studio, Midwest Terminals, NBS, 20 North Gallery, and Frickers. The event is presented by Toledo Edison and Lexus of Toledo and supported by Pilkington North America.
