13abc, The Blade and Imagination Station are combining efforts to celebrate the solar eclipse with a viewing party. “We are passionate about all things science at Imagination Station, so when an eclipse occurs, we go all-out to celebrate” said Chief Executive Director Lori Hauser. The celebration will be home to 13abc’s coverage with anchors Jeff Smith and Christina Williams anchoring Action News at Noon live from Imagination Station. There will be several live reports from activities around Imagination Station, the University of Toledo, the Oregon’s Challenger Center and other eclipse viewing locations.
13abc’s news team will return with a live local special from Imagination Station with Diane Larson and Lee Conklin anchoring live on CW13. The program “Great Solar Eclipse Celebration” will be re-broadcast on 13abc at 7:00pm giving an opportunity for people unavailable in the afternoon to watch complete coverage later.
Eclipse programming will be live streamed on 13abc.com and the 13abc app. An exclusive Gray Television broadcast with reports from around the nation will also be available at 13abc.com. 13abc will produce Facebook Live reports and 13abc will be active with photos, video and information on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
ABC News will present special live coverage of the eclipse anchored by David Muir from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on 13abc. Muir will be on location in Charleston, SC with Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee in Nashville, TN.
13abc will present a series of stories about the countdown to the eclipse beginning Monday and continuing all week on 13abc Action News at 6:00pm. Topics will include safety, the effects on animals, cell phones and the eclipse and more.
